Community Initiatives

If you are a professional working with the perinatal population in the Central FL community, you may be interested to know that CFLPA addresses various topics within Perinatal Education regarding the mental health of birthing people. We offer virtual bi-monthly member meetings and member provider case consultation groups. We also host community and provider events to bring awareness, education, support and break the stigma of pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. Upcoming and past events and dates are listed on the events page. Contact us at admin@cflpa.org to be added to our email list.

Local & Conference Presentations

CFLPA has presented at the 3rd Annual Perinatal Mental Health Conference.

Unfortunately, the stigma of mental illness in general, and perinatal mental health issues in particular, exists resulting in increased isolation and avoidance of seeking out help.  Undiagnosed PMADs have a negative ripple effect beyond the family into the community. We are devoted to advocacy and education about PMAD's for all professionals working within the reproductive time frame, debunking myths, and decreasing the stigma inhibiting care, recovery advocacy, and outreach opportunities within the Central Florida community.
